National Breastfeeding Month
In order to build a “landscape of breastfeeding support” we need to focus on recognizing and promoting the act of breastfeeding. That’s why August has been officially declared National Breastfeeding Month. During this month the USBC will host an outreach campaign across social medial in order to build support for breastfeeding by educating people on the changes that need to be made today. The theme for this year’s National Breastfeeding Month has been declared Charting the Course Together. It focuses on how we can measure and educate people on the tight connections that breastfeeding has with a large spectrum of heath related initiatives.
This month focuses on encouraging discussion and support and will focus on dialogue revolving around the four “Foundation Health Measures” of Healthy People 2020. These include the link between breastfeeding and general health status, health-related quality of life and well-being, determinants of health and disparities.
Byram Healthcare is a proud supporter of National Breastfeeding Month. We are committed to helping the USBC reach the objectives set in place and invite everyone to join. Through social media, education, calls to actions and conversations we can achieve anything. You can also share the graphics on our Facebook page in order to help us spread the word!!
